Legal P2P Music Service Doomed to Fail

Legal P2P Music Service Doomed to Fail:
If you can’t beat pirates, join them. This is Playlouder’s philosophy, a music download service that allows subscribers to download music from BitTorrent and other filesharing networks, while reimbursing the copyright owners. The concept sure is interesting, but the current setup is naive, flawed and doomed to fail.

It begins

The Australian Blogging Conference kicked off this morning with Professor Michael Lavarch and Professor Brian Fitzgerald welcoming the participants.  This was followed by a very interesting panel discussion with Senator Andrew Bartlett, Professor John Quiggin and Duncan Riley.

You can follow the day via Twitter here.

Conference begins tomorrow

Everything is pretty much all done for the Conference tomorrow.  Everyone here at QUT/CCI is very excited about the prospect of almost 100 bloggers descending on the Creative Industries Precinct tomorrow.  We hope it will be a fun, informative and at times provocative day.  See you bright and early tomorrow morning!

Getup_logo_highres

GetUp is an independent, grass-roots community advocacy organisation giving everyday Australians opportunities to get involved and hold politicians accountable on important issues.

In the lead up to the 2007 federal election, GetUp aims to be at the centre of the national online conversation. To this end, it has developed a blogging platform that will present voices from a wide range of well-known Australian public figures and political bloggers.

GetUp does not back any particular party, but aims to build an accountable and progressive Parliament - a Parliament with economic fairness, social justice and environment at its core.

Kwoff

At Kwoff we believe the Internet abounds with items of interest to online Australians, but who has the time to find it all?

No traditional 'masthead' can deliver this so we built Kwoff to help everyone find and share the interesting stuff.

Items are 'found' by the Kwoff community and voted up, or down, based on collective opinion, the good bits naturally rise to the top.

In an age of bland media ownership Kwoff provides a mechanism to declare what really matters .... we hope you enjoy what you find.
