TechCrunch's Michael Arrington has put together his third annual post on "Web 2.0 Companies I Couldn’t Live Without". Read his list here. However, his list inspired me to put together my own list of Web 2.0 companies I couldn’t live without. My list would include:
- Amazon - still where I do my online shopping.
- del.icio.us - I used this to replace my Daily News Links - check out my bookmarks here.
- Facebook - if I'm online I'm logged into Facebook.
- Feedburner - I now use this instead of Site Meter.
- Firefox - I no longer use Explorer at all.
- Flock - I don't use this as much as Firefox but it is a great social web browser that integrates nicely with all my Web 2.0 usage.
- Gmail - a great backup email; I especially love the integrated chat feature.
- Windows Live Messenger - still the easiest way to chat online (which was greatly improved last year).
- Plaxo - my online address book; I just wish more of my friends used it.
- Second Life - still spending time in this virtual world; plan to do some teaching in it this year.
- Shrook - my preferred RSS reader (for Macs only I'm afraid).
- Skype - the only to make overseas calls (makes long distance relationships so much easier ... and cheaper).
- Techmeme - a one-stop shop for Web 2.0 news.
- Twitter - I still don't get it, but I do enjoy it; follow my feed here.
- Typepad - the platform I use for my blogs.
- Wikipedia - can solve any bet.
- YouTube - I watch far too many videos (but not on work time ...).
