Peter, you've captured the flavour of Australia Day and Australian blawgs in all their diversity. But what about the Australian Open tennis?

Thanks

Welcome back- you've been missed. It isn't just the US law Blogoshere we lag here in Australia- others are streets ahead. For example Canada also has some excellent practitioners. In my fields David Fraser on privacy(http://www.privacylawyer.ca/blog/)and Dan Michaluk(http://danmichaluk.wordpress.com/) on Freedom of Information and related topics both still manage a blog and legal practice and there are many others. The Australian professional bodies don't seem to have provided much of a lead or recognition of the value of blogging to the professions or the broader community

  • Content
This blog speaks freely about law, politics and the internet. While the focus is on Australia, developments in other nations around the world are considered as well.
  • Background
The title of this blog is inspired by the Opinion of the US Supreme Court in Board of Education v Barnette 319 US 624 (1943): "But freedom to differ is not limited to things that do not matter much. That would be a mere shadow of freedom. The test of its substance is the right to differ as to things that touch the heart of the existing order."
