The QS World University Rankings for 2012-13 have been released. The Australian has already compiled a league table for where Australian universities are ranked under QS World University Rankings, the Academic Ranking of World Universities (the Shanghai Rankings), and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. You can view that league table here.
However, one interesting feature of the QS World University Rankings is that they also provide subject rankings, including for law. As such, I have compiled a list of the best universities in Australia study law, according to the QS World University Rankings. Twelve Australian law schools made the list of the top 200 law schools worldwide:
1 . The University of Melbourne (8)
2. The University of Sydney (10=)
3. Australian National University (14)
4. Monash University (15)
5. The University of New South Wales (30)
6= Griffith University (51-100)
6= Queensland University of Technology (51-100)
6= The University of Adelaide (51-100)
6= The University of Queensland (51-100)
10= The University of Western Australia (101-150)
10= University of Technology, Sydney (101-150)
12. University of Tasmania (151-200)
(As an aside, I was pleased to see the Law School where I completed my LLM, Columbia University, was ranked 5th in the world.)
